'A little bit more than a Mosey' for Posy - St Albans Half Marathon

Story
I am running the St Albans Half this year in memory of my beautiful granddaughter, Posy who died at just 2 weeks old having contracted Meningococcal Septicaemia (that's my finger she's squeezing :) ). Read more about her story, and that of her amazing parents, Rebecca and Michael, on the Posy Lyons Forever Fund home page (link in the menu on the left). All donations in Posy's name will go to help the charity Meningitis Now fund vital research that could one day end the pain of meningitis forever. It will also help raise awareness of the disease and support families affected by meningitis, so that no one has to face this devastating disease alone. They say 'after 30 years we remain committed to fighting meningitis and our vision is a future where no-one dies of this awful disease and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.' We did it!
11th June 2019Thank you all so much for your support. I completed the half marathon with the support of lovely friends, both on the run and supporting from the side of the road! Between us all we've surpassed all the targets set - thank you!

8th June 2019Counting down to the run and we've been blown away by everyone's support and generosity. We're going to hit £4000, I'm sure - absolutely fantastic. Thank you all 💕⚘🌻🌼🌸
10 miles down, 3.1 to go!
20th May 201910 mile training run completed yesterday... It hurt quite a lot and I'm not sure where I'll get the next 3.1 miles from but thoughts of Posy will drive me on I'm sure - the pain is worth it and nothing compared to Becca and Michael's loss.
New ambitious target!
4th May 2019Thank you all for being so generous! We've had to raise the target twice now and this time have gone for an ambitious £3000! This would be such a fantastic start for Posy's fund.

23rd April 2019Thank you all so much for getting us to well over half way to target in less than 24 hours! I don't know all of you but I do know how much Posy, Rebecca and Michael mean to you all. Our hope is that this money can help them and others in their situation and to move towards no more death from meningitis.
I'd better got on with my training!
