My 3rd (and quite possibly my last!) Half Marathon, to mark Posy's 3rd birthday and to celebrate her and her little sister, Ivy. We love being grandparents and are so thankful for both of these beautiful girls.Updates

4th April 2022I made it round - not in the best style, but crossed the finish line in one piece. Thank you all for your support - a fantastic amount raised for Meningitis Now!
3 days to go!
31st March 2022Very nearly there now - the vest is ready, but, looking at the weather forecast, I think I may need some extra layers underneath!
Thank you all for helping smash the fundraising target - all of the money will be used to help Meningitis Now move towards their vision where no-one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.
I will also be making a contribution to the DEC Ukraine Appeal to say 'thank you' for your support.
A ray of sunshine
21st March 2022Achieved 11 miles yesterday for the final long training run and was met at the end by this beautiful one - Posy's sister, our gorgeous granddaughter and ray of sunshine - Ivy (plus 'babbit'!).

2 weeks to go
18th March 2022Final couple of weeks of training coming up - and the logistics of the day to work out, which seems almost more of a challenge that the run itself! So many people, so many instructions from the organisers... a London run is very different from the comfort of walking done the hill from home to start the St Albans HM!
Have been put in the latest starting wave, which says something about my running Granny status I think!

Local Landmark 10k done
23rd February 2022Completed the Local Landmarks 10k today, 3 days late to wait for the winds to drop. A good run around St Albans landmarks, The Abbey, Verulamium Park, The Alban Way, Clarence Park...
a bit of a lull..
22nd February 2022Thank you for all the donations and messages! They are spurring me on - only 5 weeks to go.
The storms and a sore hip have taken their toll this week though and I've had an enforced rest - hopefully back to it tomorrow to complete the Local Landmarks 10k - update and photos to follow.
Getting there!
9th February 2022Week 5 of the training plan (50 miles run so far) and progress is slow but steady... Have signed up for the Local Landmarks 10k on 20 Feb as an interim challenge... mapping the landmarks last week was a fun run!
It's happening!
2nd February 2022Registration confirmed and 3rd of the way through the LLHM training programme... It's slow going but I think I'm committed!
